Birdsong

‘Birdsong’ is an ongoing body of work that draws on the complexities of what it means to belong. As a child who grew up in-between different cultures, the work recalls a longing to be rooted. This longing is echoed through the tenuous relationship created between an image and its maker and consequently, its maker to her audience. There is nothing revelatory about the work; it simply exists as the extension of a feeling that the image attempts to carry forward in its own feverish way. – Teva Cosic

CCP.PE.ZINE is a collaborative publishing initiative from the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) and Perimeter Editions, dedicated to providing a platform for emerging photographic artists to exhibit their work in an accessible zine format. Each zine in the series – launched periodically in pairs – focuses on a single body of work by artists selected by the CCP.
